FIVE STAR STRANDLOPER OCEAN BOUTIQUE HOTEL EXCELS AT NATIONAL SA TOURISM AWARDS
The Lilizela Service Excellence Accommodation Award 2014 recognizes Strandloper Ocean as the best 5 star guest house accommodation service provider in South Africa. It furthermore gives recognition to the boutique hotel for its excellence, for making an exceptional contribution in the tourism industry, investing in skills provision and leading by example, thereby giving guests a world-class experience and contributing to South Africa’s international competitiveness in the field of tourism.
This annual competition, which is organized by South African Tourism in partnership with the National Department of Tourism, the Federated Hospitality Association of South Africa (Fedhasa), the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA), the Tourism Ministry and other role players across the industry, is the premier tourism award programme in South Africa. The Awards recognise and reward the role-players who deliver world-class tourism related products and services, thereby contributing to enhance South Africa globally as a destination of choice.
Tamerin Jardine, Miss Earth 2012, who received the award on behalf of the Strandloper Ocean Boutique Hotel, said that her presence at the gala event served as a reminder that Strandloper Ocean was specifically created to reconnect its guests with nature and to remind them how generous our Mother Earth is spoiling us all with its beauty and healing energies. “In its essence Strandloper Ocean Boutique Hotel is a place of barefoot luxury to celebrate its unique surroundings – the sea, the West Coast landscape and also its unique people,” Jardine said.
“I am also proud to accept the award on behalf of the Western Cape, the charming fisherman’s village of Paternoster and its people who gives the village a soul and create an unforgettable true West Coast experience for all its visitors,” Jardine added.
The name of the Lilizela Tourism Awards was derived from the Nguni word Lilizela which means to ululate – a uniquely African act of congratulating when someone has done something well. Lilizela is a name that truly distinguishes these uniquely African awards from the mainstream.
