Bumper season expected in the West Coast! |

The Saldanha Bay Tourism Organisation is expecting a bumper season, and all indications are that this will be the case. Our coastal towns are full and it is difficult to find available accommodation for last minute bookings.
The SBTO organised a very successful "Welcome the Visitor" campaign in Paternoster, Saldanha / Vredenburg / Jacobsbaai and Langebaan on 13 December and in St Helena Bay on 17 December. We received great support from the local tourism associations, our members, the SAPS and Saldanha Bay Municipality traffic authorities as well as volunteers from the Neighbourhood Watches and CPFs. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of visitors entering our area. A similar exercise will take place in Hopefield on 19 December.
Initial indications from the retail trade are positive, with one comment being that it seems the season has started earlier than in previous years.
While the increased tourism numbers will place pressure on the resources in our area, we ask local residents to help us to ensure that all of our visitors feel welcome, and that they have a great holiday. We thank the Saldanha Bay Municipality for making additional Paw Enforcement Officials available to assist in this effort.
We would also like to thank all those officials and volunteers who will work through the season to make the experience safe and pleasurable, including the volunteers from the local tourism associations, Neighbourhood Watches and CPFs, and the NSRI.
