The 26th Langebaan Downwind Dash will be held on Saturday, 14th January 2012

The Langebaan Downwind Dash is an internationally renowned sailing event that has been run consistently for 25 years attracting extreme sailing enthusiasts from around the globe. The competition is open to windsurfers, kiteboarders, catamaran and dinghy sailors and Stand-Up Paddle boarders and is sailed over a 20 km course from Langebaan to Saldanha.

This is THE premier downwind event in Africa where windsurfers, kiteboarders, dinghy and catamaran sailors as well as stand-up paddle boarders join in a on a really special race - harnessing the power of wind and water for some wild, wet fun.

The action will start on Langebaan’s main beach with the Stand-Up Paddle boarders starting first at 14:20, followed by the Windsurfers, Kiters and other sailing craft at 15:00. The leading competitors should fly through the finish line in front of the Dial Rock flats, Saldanha at the Saldanha Beach Sailing Club just before 15:30.
