The IDZ Business Forum is a joint initiative to support local business and uplift the supply chain development by the following organisations:

Cape Chamber of Commerce West Coast Chapter

Saldanha Bay Black Business Woman's Association

Saldanha Bay Tourism Organisation

Saldanha Bay IDZ Licensing Company

Weskus Sakekamer

West Coast Business Development Centre

 

Important items to note:

The IDZ Business Forum was established in December 2012 and will be working alongside the Department of Trade & Industry (The DTI) , the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and yourselves to ensure that the local business benefit from the Industrial Development in Saldanha Bay.

Beginning June 2013 business will be contracted by either their business organisations or th UNDP to complete a form detailing their business information.  The form will be used to identify various support areas needed by local business to become competitive suppliers to the Oil & Gas and Marine Repair Industry.  

We anticipate this process to reach conclusion by end July 2013.  Thereafter we will be hosting a second meeting with the business community to update them on the next steps.

Langebaan Lagoon Crossing On 24 (or 25) March 2012, the 3rd Annual Langebaan Lagoon Crossing will be held, where participants will cross the Langebaan Lagoon from Shark Bay to Kraal Bay using muscle power alone. Although planned as an open water swim, swimming aids, kayaks, paddle boards, surf boards and any other more original methods are allowed and encouraged. Maximum fun, environmental awareness and safety remain the main themes of the 2012 event.
