The long awaited day has come...
The Hopefield Community Garden Project is happening this weekend! The trees and the compost donations received will find it's rightfull place in the ground!
Langebaanweg has delivered information regarding National Arbor Day which will be distributed in the town of Hopefield as part of the Hopefield Forum and Hopefield Tourism's educational drive.
Timeline:
Wednesday 11 September:
Hopefield Forum and Hopefield Tourism will mark where the 1st phase trees will be planted in the R.D.P area. Langebaanweg will collect 100 trees from the West Coast District Municipality with compost and deliver to Hopefield.
Thursday 12 September:
11 Langebaanweg soldiers will be digging the holes
Saturday 14 September:
8:00 the Community of Hopefield and any volunteers will get together at the Ronnie Louw Sports Hall for a presentation by Langebaanweg to educate and create a hype for the project. The official Arbor day will then kick off by 09:00
The Brigade will lead the group of people from the corner of Sonneblom and Duineveld Streets in H.O.P land where the tree planting will commence.
Cederberg Fire protection, SAP, The Community Forum, Tourism, The Mayor, Langebaanweg and the Parks board will plant the first few ceremonial trees and the local newspaper, Weslander, will do media coverage of the event.
Hereafter, the rest of the trees will be planted by the Community and volunteers.
